Nominated for ten Academy Awards and winner of three (Best Actress for an adorable, brilliant Audrey Hepburn) Roman Holiday is a timeless romantic comedy.
Crown Princess Ann (Hepburn) is bored with her royal schedule and needs a break. After her doctor gives her a drug to make her sleepy, she leaves the embassy where she's staying and ventures outside alone, to explore the magnificent city of Rome.
Joe Bradley, (a superb Gregory Peck) is an American reporter, who finds her asleep on a bench. Not recognizing her, he thinks she is intoxicated and takes her to his apartment to sleep it off.
Joe's editor Hennessy (Hartley Power) offers him $5000, and counters with a $500 bet that Joe will not be able to get the story. Photographer Irving Radovich (Eddie Albert) almost gives the game away.
Gorgeous cinematography, iconic scenes (see: the thrilling Vespa ride) and captivating scenery throughout. Both Princess Ann's and our Roman Holiday for all time. Unmissable.
