Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)

The Chamber of Secrets has been opened, that's the message and also the mystery in Year 2.

Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) are back at Hogwarts for another term. The young actors excel in their roles.

Year 2 features a memorable visit from Dobby the Elf (voiced by a brilliant Toby Jones) and an exciting (car led) jail break, from the dreaded Dursley's. Headed by the superb, Richard Griffiths as Vernon Dursley (Harry's abusive Muggle uncle.)

Kenneth Branagh is on scene stealing top form as Gilderoy Lockhart, a cowardly celebrity author and the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts, while a superb Shirley Henderson is the giggling Moaning Myrtle, haunting the girl's bathroom.

There are giant spiders, giant snakes and giant Quidditch games ahead! [The CGI is much improved here.]

Jason Isaacs is commanding as Lucius Malfoy (Draco's father.) The sets are incredible and come to life in 4K HDR (see the final location) with outstanding cinematography.

Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltrane, Alan Rickman, Julie Walters and Richard Harris (in his final appearance as Professor Dumbledore) add to the all star cast.

It's just as good as the first part.
