Daddy's Home 2 (2017)

In this follow up to Daddy's Home (2015), step-dad Brad (Will Ferrell), real dad Dusty (Mark Wahlberg), and mum Sara (Linda Cardellini) take their children on a Christmas vacation, alongside Mel Gibson's tough, old-school dad, Kurt (Dusty's father) and John Lithgow's more gentle, Don (Brad's father.)

Kurt tries to get Brad and Dusty to fall out, as he doesn't agree with their softer parenting style. The script is well written with often laugh out loud humour and the character clashes are great fun to watch.

Wahlberg and Ferrell continue to have great comedic chemistry. At times, it gets a little too silly but it's far better than its critical reputation suggests. The snowball scene is hilarious! And the thermometer scene brings the heat (ho hum).

John Cena returns as Adrianna's father Roger who loves him some 'Do They Know It's Christmas?'

The cinema set ending provides decent heart and fun comedy (with a welcome surprise or two), and is appropriately feel-good festive.

Obvious product placement throughout (is obvious.)
