Mattress salesman Howard (Arnold Schwarzenegger) has forgotten to buy his son (Jake Lloyd) the must have toy of the season, Turbo-Man. He heads out on Christmas Eve to try and find it, competing with Myron Larabee (Comedian Sinbad) all the way.
There is some fun to be had and quotable dialogue 'put that cookie down!' but it's also very contrived, full of plot holes and extremely silly throughout.
Howard is at not one but two bomb threats (the lowest point of the film) and he breaks into his neighbours house (Phil Hartman.) Jail time awaits.
Sinbad certainly knows a lot about toy companies and commercialisation, to say he's waiting in line on Christmas Eve, for a Turbo-Man. His speech hits home like a bag of (Home Alone) spanners! He says, “I'm scared of heights, ever seen the movie Vertigo, that mean anything to you?” Yes, it means the scriptwriter doesn't know what Vertigo is! (Just about) passable.
