In this belated sequel to The Best Man (1999), Author Harper Stewart (a brilliant Taye Diggs) has writer's block and financial difficulties, so his agent (John Michael Higgins) suggests he writes a biography of his former best friend and New York Giants superstar, Lance Sullivan (an excellent Morris Chestnut.)
Lance's wife Mia (Monica Calhoun) invites Harper, his pregnant wife Robyn (Sanaa Lathan) and the rest of the group for Christmas, which leads to secrets being revealed.
TBMH has an engaging screenplay that is appropriately festive, with well written dialogue and fun comedic moments, but it's also a weepie, so make sure you keep the tissues to hand. Whenever things get a little too melodramatic and serious, Terrence Howard (as Quentin "Q" Spivey) is on hand with a clever one-liner to lighten the tone.
Mia's best friend Jordan (Nia Long) and her new white boyfriend, Brian (Eddie Cibrian) tag along. Decent Christmas entertainment for adults.
