After visiting Comic-Con two British pop cultural enthusiasts (the reunited Simon Pegg and Nick Frost) come across a real life alien (voiced by Seth Rogan.) Together with religious fanatic Ruth Buggs (an excellent Kristen Wiig) they embark on a road trip to send the pot smoking, sarcastic alien home.
Paul is an entertaining film with likeable characters that parody's other science-fiction films, especially those of Director Steven Spielberg. It's not as good as The Cornetto Trilogy (2004 – 2013) but the often coarse humour is funny and unexpected.
The alien CGI is superb. Jason Bateman, Bill Hader and Joe Lo Truglio are the special agents on their trail. Jane Lynch is diner worker Pat Stevens. Sigourney Weaver (Alien, 1979) has a cameo. Overall, it's fun.
