IF (2024)

IF is about the Imaginary Friends who live in our world and the children who can see them. Bea (a very good Cailey Fleming) is one such child.

It's similar to Toy Story because the children grow up and move on, leaving their old Imaginary Friends behind.

As colourful and engaging as it is, IF feels like it's more suited to a younger audience. Ryan Reynolds is good value here playing against type in a surprising (given the subject matter) more serious role.

After her mother passed away, Bea's father (John Krasinski) is in the hospital and the IF's provide a welcome distraction as she tries to match them up with children.

The IF's have appealing character designs and the famous voice actors are numerous (perhaps too numerous, did they really need to pay all those famous actors? Do we even know it's them?)

The end reveal is a little troublesome if you think about it. Excellent world building with great cinematography but it's only moderately entertaining.
