Despite the title, White Christmas isn't very Christmassy at all! The song, 'White Christmas' (first heard in Holiday Inn, 1942, which this shares similarities with) is performed at the start and end of the film, as well as the festive song 'Snow', but that's your lot!
After World War II, Broadway star, Bob (Bing Crosby) and aspiring performer, Phil (Danny Kaye) become a famous song and dance team. The two of them watch as sisters Betty (Rosemary Clooney) and Judy (Vera-Ellen) perform and the four meet up. After some romantic shenanigans, Phil and Bob decide to stage a large musical at The Pine Tree lodge hoping to attract guests for their former General (Dean Jagger.)
White Christmas has likable leads, good songs and excellent dance choreography, but the plot is a little thin and far-fetched (how could Bob and Phil afford to stage this elaborate musical?) Still, it's enjoyable and engaging if you just go with it!
