Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)

In Home Alone 2, Kevin (a superb Macaulay Culkin) boards the wrong plane and ends up (alone) in New York City, in a series of events that are beyond contrived! Despite this, Part II is entertaining.

Okay, it's practically a beat by beat copy of the original, but there are enough new elements to make this worthwhile. Such as the 'kindhearted' homeless, pigeon lady who Kevin befriends (a memorable Brenda Fricker.)

Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci are back as the hapless Wet Bandits (now the Sticky Bandits) and the booby trap violence is even more over the top (everything Kevin does would instantly kill them), but then this is a live action cartoon!

In the film's best scene Kevin tricks concierge Mr. Hector (a brilliant Tim Curry) and hotel staff, with fictional Film Noir Angels with Even Filthier Souls

Quotable dialogue, great heart and clever comedic set-pieces throughout. The John Williams score is fantastic.
