Miracle in Manhattan (Mrs. Miracle 2) (2010)

Holly Wilson (Jewel Staite, TV's Firefly) is raising her Nephew while her brother is away on operations with the US Army. Jake Finley (Eric Johnson, TV's Smallville) is working at his father's department store, he needs to prove to the grumpy old man, that he can handle the business.

Mrs. Miracle shows up at the store (no one hired her) and attempts to bring father and son together, while at the same time ensuring the two singletons (Holly and Jake) meet.

Move the action to NY City, add another predictable romantic storyline and you have Mrs. Miracle 2. Doris Roberts is good with what she has to do, which isn't much, she takes a back seat to the other actors. Her name tag joke is repeated too often.

It's over-sentimental and contrived, but it's (just about) passable (festive entertainment) if you're in an undemanding mood. Lauren Holly (Dumb and Dumber, 1994) hams it up as Holly's fashion-conscious boss.
