Jurassic Park (1993)

Director Steven Spielberg's outstanding thrill ride, sees Sam Neil's, Dr. Alan Grant and Laura Dern's, Dr. Ellie Sattler visiting Billionaire John Hammond's dinosaur themed park (Hammond, the great Richard Attenborough), when a storm causes the ferocious dinosaurs to break loose.

Dr. Ian Malcolm (a scene stealing Jeff Goldblum), and Hammond's grandchildren, Lex (Ariana Richards) and Tim (Joseph Mazzello) are along for the ride.

This is blockbuster film making on an epic scale, with expert set pieces and CGI dinosaurs that still look real. The T-Rex scene is hard to beat with real threat and thrilling action (hold onto your ears and your butt!)

The Raptor Kitchen showdown is intense and a fall from the vents induces gasps.

Endlessly quotable ("when you gotta go, you gotta go" "spared no expense") with a great score by legendary John Williams, Jurassic Park is still the Dino Daddy.

Fine support from (chief engineer) Samuel L. Jackson and TV's Seinfeld's Dennis Nedry (as the conniving Wayne Knight.) Blockbusters just don't get any better than this.
