Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man (1951)

After being accused of murdering his manager, Middle-weight boxer Tommy Nelson (Arthur Franz) escapes from jail. Along with Bud and Lou he must prove his innocence. Throw in some invisibility serum and you have one of Abbott and Costello's best films.

The special effects that make Tommy appear invisible are still great and must have wowed audiences at the time. See the scene where he removes his bandage inside the car.

The film features the classic money routine, “leave it there,” which is a comedy great from A&C's vaudeville days and a restaurant scene that is pure hilarity.

The boxing match is comedy genius as a now invisible Tommy does the fighting for Lou. Lou trips over Tommy as the bout reaches farcical levels. As usual Bud volunteers Lou for things he'd rather not do.

Nancy Guild is Helen Gray, Tommy's helpful fianceƩ.
